We Need Your Help

Living in the world of equine rescue is such an awakening. There are so many uplifting moments, like when you take in a horse that is so emaciated you don't know how it is still standing, and you bring that horse back to health and vitality. The ultimate is when you witness that horse choose it's forever human soul-mate. I have seen this dozens of times now and it never loses it's magic.

Then there is the satisfaction of knowing that horses left to die in the desert, with no adequate food supply or water source, with strangles and other illnesses, were rescued a month ago and are now rehabilitating here at the Rescue, recovering from their illnesses, putting on weight, becoming used to a human's touch, and beginning to trust people. Anyway, all of my ramblings aside, Rescuing these horses is my lifes passion...Making sure they have long, happy, safe lives is my goal...

This being said, I have to continue to do the thing that is the hardest for me and that is ask for all of you who visit, and appreciate our website, take a minute and think of ways you can help our horses. It is not helping me, or the other people here at DreamCatchers, it is helping the horses. We put our hearts and souls and most of our personal income into saving and caring for these wonderful animals. With the drought and economy today, we have nearly 150 rescue horses to care for, feed, vaccinate, train, etc. and will probably take in more.

We are also trying to do our part for other rescues. Most people who are here on a regular basis know we take in horses all the time. With the recent Waldo Canyon wildfire, we took in horses, on a temporary basis, until their owners are able to find a new, permanent home.. They are not here permanently, they are visiting, being babysat, fed, and cared for.

We make many trips to pick up horses from another rescues and from personal, private owners, who need to downsize their horse rescue program or thin out their personal herd.. We have helped people when they are having difficulty financially, or are losing their property and have been saddled with the burden of finding a safe haven for their horses. We have a better chance at finding homes for these horses. I was blessed years ago to meet one rescue horses in particular...he is my little Skylar's 3 yr old brother...also a Paso Fino and is beautiful.

Give what you can, be it money, feed, your time, or your experience...I guarantee that you will get more than you give if you hang out here for very long.

Thanks to all our wonderful supporters and volunteers.

Sincerely,

Julie DeMuesy

I would love to foster or provide a forever home to one or two sound horses. I have a CHAFFHAYE dealership here in Penrose providing tons of groceries. Would prefer somebody who needs lots of weight put on safely as I would use them for advertising Chaffhaye in addition to providing a great home.

Good Morning Julie,
I just wanted to let you know that Gabe and I will be donating $11 a week to your rescue. We wish so much that we could do more but he is the only one working right now. But I know that every little bit helps. God bless you for doing what you are doing...for being an Angel to all those Beautiful creatures of God...
Many Blessings

Thank you so much, $11 per week is huge help, it will help to feed and care for the horses here at DreamCatchers. There is no small donation. We really appreciate your support.
