Here at DreamCatchers Equine Rescue the owners, volunteers, visitors, adoptive horse owners and private horse owners all agree on one very important thing...all of the horses that come here are deserving of our love, care, respect and appreciation for what they are, magnificent creatures that have roamed this earth for a lot longer than humans have.
We all have our favorites, the ones we own, the ones we wish we owned, the ones that need attention, be it emotional, medical or physical, the babies that are just learning what human kindness is, the "old farts" that have experienced good and bad in their lives, and the ones that have been abused, starved, beaten, cut up, neglected, etc..
Each and every one of these horses want to be loved and cared for. They have big hearts that can be broken or filled with happiness, can love other horses or humans, can trust humans, and most of all, can live their lives with dignity and respect, if we humans treat them the way they deserve to be treated.
They require love, good food, clean water, medical attention, ferrier attention, a shelter to get out of the storms in the winter and out of the scorching sun in the summer, and in particular a clean, safe place to call home.
When you think about it, the only difference that really counts between humans and horses is, humans can think. We are the
only ones that can plan ahead, can build the shelters they require, clean the water troughs, stalls, and walk-ins, provide good clean water, healthy food, and most of all medical attention when required. We teach them to trust us, to love and want to be with us, and humans can also teach them to fear us and run from us, when we abuse them.
DreamCatchers will NOT permit ANYONE to abuse any horses. If there is anything that makes the blood boil faster than an abusive horse owner, I cannot think of what that might be. Whoa be unto the abuser if they are caught beating a horse, abusing them in any way, be it emotionally, physically, or mentallly, they will be removed from the horse(s) quickly, and permanently.
DreamCatches is a "safe haven" for all horses. "It's all about the horses!" as Julie always says. Come to DreamCatchers and see how horses are meant to be treated.
If you do not feel the peace, respect, and the compassion, do not see how the horses change for the better after only being here for a few days, or smell the clean air, and the fresh grass and hay, then you must be dead!
Even people who are NOT horse loves (are there such people?) cannot help but see, hear, and feel the love that is shared at the "safe horse haven" known as DreamCatchers Equine Rescue.
